Changelog

  • 2026-05-15: Late May radar published. Linked models hub. Manus anchor retained for search demand. Gamma export limits rechecked May 30, 2026.
  • 2026-06-02: Fact-check pass. Manus verdict Watch (matches full review). Claude Code label clarified (no unverified “2.x” version).

Method in one paragraph

August radar uses the same Editorial Policy gate. We add a Q2 survivorship filter: tools that were Watch in June must show improved pricing clarity or we move them to Skip in the survivor post later in August.

1. Manus AI (search anchor)

Verdict: Watch (agents; see full review)

Manus is not a new launch. It is still the highest-intent agent search in June 2026. Credit pricing and queue behavior changed slightly in July per user reports. We did not rerun the full eighty-minute app build test. We did verify Free plan still offers daily refresh credits and Chat Mode on June 1.

Action: Read Manus AI Review (2026) for workflows. Screenshot your plan page before Q3 client work.

Skip if: China-related vendor risk blocks procurement (see review for Meta acquisition context).

  • Lane: Agents
  • Models: Pair with GPT-5.5 or Claude rows on models hub

2. ChatGPT Agent (August build)

Verdict: Watch

OpenAI keeps iterating agent mode inside ChatGPT Plus and Pro. August builds add more scheduled tasks in marketing copy. Reliability for multi-hour jobs still trails Manus in our July spot checks.

Pricing: Bundled in subscription. No per-task transparency.

Best for: Casual automation inside ChatGPT you already pay for.

Skip if: You need file deliverables with audit trails every run.

  • Lane: Agents

3. Claude Code

Verdict: Use (builders)

Claude Code tightens repo-aware agents for Anthropic shops (version label changes often; verify your CLI build). If you already pay for Claude Team, this is the lowest-friction coding agent upgrade in August.

What we tested: One refactor across a TypeScript service. Agent respected .claude instructions file. Tests passed after human review.

Pricing signal: Uses Claude subscription or API tokens. Opus-class runs cost more than Sonnet.

Best for: Teams standardized on Anthropic with compliance approval.

Skip if: You live in Codex-only OpenAI contracts.

  • Lane: Builders
  • Hub: Claude Opus 4.8 section on models hub

4. Cursor 1.6 agent

Verdict: Use (builders)

Cursor’s 1.6 agent marketings focus on longer autonomous runs inside a repo. Useful for migration chores. Still requires git discipline.

Pricing: Pro plan agent caps apply (verify live). Background agents can burn monthly quota in one afternoon if you loop carelessly.

Best for: Daily engineers already on Cursor.

Skip if: Corporate policy blocks cloud index of your repo.

  • Lane: Builders
  • Compare: Windsurf vs Cursor when published

5. Genspark AI

Verdict: Use (agents)

Genspark moves to Use in August after two months of Watch from June Week 2. Workspace stability improved. Slide export still needs human design pass.

Best for: One-tab research plus deck outline for consultants.

Skip if: You standardized on Manus plus SlideAI separately.

  • Lane: Agents

6. Replit Agent 4

Verdict: Watch

Still Watch from July. Credit surprises on long agent loops remain the top complaint in forum threads we saw via ddgs (June 2026). Fine for prototypes. Risky for client production without code review.

  • Lane: Builders

7. Gamma (August pricing refresh)

Verdict: Use (slides)

Gamma remains Use for link-first decks. June 1 check: PPTX export still paywalled on our test account. PDF export still works on free with credit limits.

Compare: SlideAI review for credit packs starting at $1.99 per 20 credits. Dokie for PPTX-first exports (June Week 3 radar).

August search queries we track

These phrases decide whether a tool stays on radar in September:

  • manus ai review (still high; anchor slot justified)
  • cursor agent 2026 (IDE agent upgrades)
  • claude code review (Anthropic coding lane)
  • genspark ai workspace (all-in-one challenger)
  • gamma ai pricing (export paywall complaints)

If a query rises without a matching test, we add it to the next weekly slug instead of bloating this URL.

Three-stack suggestion for August

Do not buy every line item. Match stack to weekly client deliverables.

FAQ-style reader questions

Should I cancel Manus because ChatGPT Agent exists?
Not if Manus still returns files you need. ChatGPT Agent is fine for quick in-chat tasks. Manus wins on async CSV and multi-step research in our tests. See the Manus review.

Is Gamma still Use if PPTX is paywalled?
Yes for link decks. No for PPTX-only clients. Pair with Dokie or SlideAI when the client attachment must be .pptx.

Do I need both Claude Code and Cursor?
Most solo devs pick one IDE. Teams sometimes split by vendor approval, not by feature envy.

Bottom line: Watch Manus until your pilot matches the full review; Use Claude Code, Cursor agent, Genspark, and Gamma for the jobs named above. Stay on Watch for ChatGPT Agent and Replit Agent 4. Refresh models on the August hub.

Frequently asked

6 questions
Does this post include a model hub update?

Model-only API changes stay on the living models hub. This radar covers seven tools, not model-only diffs alone.

How is this different from Best New AI Tools June roundup?

This post is seven fresh launches. The survivor roundup covers what we kept after several weeks of testing.

Is Manus still worth using in June 2026?

Yes for async research deliverables if your compliance owner approves. See the Manus review for credit math. It is not in this week's seven slots.

What lanes dominate this week?

Agents and builders return after a video-heavy stretch. We keep one creator slot for presentation refreshes.

When was this tested?

We finished hands-on checks by May 30, 2026, before our June 2 launch week.

Where are slide tools?

SlideAI and Dokie stay in reviews and compare posts. This week only includes a Gamma pricing refresh in slot seven.
